Vibrant Oakland farmers market

Community

Part of a neighborhood,not just a market.

La Cascada Foods has always been a local business in the fullest sense. We buy locally, deliver locally, and give back locally. The same things that make our food fresh — staying close to home at every step — also keep us connected to the people and places around us.

Food rescue — fresh donations being prepared for local food banks

Food rescue

We rescuegood food.

Making fresh food comes with a responsibility: not wasting it. We watch our shelves closely and pull anything nearing its expiration date. But good food that's still good to eat doesn't belong in the trash — so we donate it to local food banks on our regular delivery runs.

It's built into how we operate, not something we do once in a while.

Local economy

We invest inlocal growers.

Sourcing locally isn't only about freshness — it's about where our dollars go. When we buy from regional farms and local growers, we're keeping money, work, and livelihoods in our own community rather than sending them somewhere far away.

Seasonal, local sourcing means we're partners in the local food economy, not just customers passing through it.

What's nearing its date goes to neighbors who need it, not to the trash. We reduce waste as a matter of routine on every delivery run.
